Doctor's Ayurvedic Advice:-

Hello, Lazy eye or blunt vision is termed amblyopia in medical terms. It is vision disorder when the coordination between eye and brain is altered thereby causing decreased eye vision in single eye.Usually poor alignment of eyes due to irregular shape of eye causes difficult focusing at a point and thence making one eye nearsighted or farsighted as compared to other. This may cause the clouding of eye lens. The treatment of strabismic or anisometropic amblyopia involves optical deficit correction by using spectacles of the prescribed number. Constant stress on using the amblyopic eye should be there to strengthen the weak eye and is done either by patching normal eye for 4- 6 hours in a day or by tropical use of atropine in good eye. prolonged patching should be avoided as may cause reverse amblyopia while prolonged use of atropine may cause nodule formation. in ayurveda tratak kriya should be practiced daily to strengthen the lazy eye. Akshi tarpan with triphala ghrit should also be done. Oral administration of vasant kusmakar ras- 250mg twice a day with luke warm water after meals should be taken for 2 months.
