It is mentioned as Solitary kidney when one kidney is not functioning. It usually happens due to kidney dysplasia, birth defects or due to other specific reasons. Please let me know about the investigations to guide you further. It is necessary to check albuminuria, the Glomerular filtration rate and the blood pressure to know the working of the kidney.

Ayurvedic medicines like Punarnavadi Kvath - 15ml with 60ml of warm water before food twice daily and Divya Gokshuradi Guggulu can be taken for a month and reviewed. These medicines can be taken to improve the function of the kidney and will also help to reduce the pain.

Include turmeric, coriander, berries, cucumber and cumin seeds. Reduce excess salt, protein, sodium, sugar, alcohol, red meat, organ meat, butter, oil, peas, mushrooms, yeast and caffeine. Please do have regular checkups to prevent the progression of the damage to the kidneys.

Hello,

As you mentioned that left kidney is non-functional, we are not sure what kind of damage that has happened. There is nothing to worry if one kidney is functioning well, your all vitals can be normal. If left kidney is completely damaged, then it is better to undergo allopath care to do the needful. However, the line of the treatment is same as the line of treatment of chronic kidney disease. So, you can have the following medicines such as Package Medicine that contains medicines of various types and are meant for enhancing renal functioning.

Diet is very important to follow by limiting fluids, lowering proteins in diet, limiting salt, potassium, phosphorous and improving calorie levels if you are lean.

Try to reduce dairy foods and increase vegetables. Try to avoid carbonated beverages and caffeinated beverages like coffee, coke, pepsi etc.

You can practice Yoga and Pranayama regularly and that will help you to improve your confidence levels and enhance proper blood circulation.

If you are smoking or using alcohol, it is better to avoid immediately as that may also harm your kidneys. Try to protect your healthy kidney by following strict diet which is also very important.

Kidney transplantation is done in End stage kidney failure as the kidney function declines. It is necessary to take the prescribed medicines and to have regular followups. In some cases, there may be a recurrence of the disorder which caused the problem earlier or the function of the kidney may be affected due to a clot. This clot obstructs the flow of blood and hinders with the function. So please consult a nephrologist with all your blood tests who will able to guide you better. The other tests like glomerular filtration rate has to be checked before deciding for dialysis. Dialysis is especially advised when GFR < 30 mL/min/1.73 m2 based on other parameters also.

Ayurvedic medicines like Brihatyadi kasayam - 15ml with 60ml warm water before food twice daily, Divya Chandraprabha Vati for a month and then reviewed.

Reduce purine rich foods like peas, bananas, mushrooms, asparagus, nuts, beans, yeast and fish or meat. Reduce proteins, sugar and fried fatty food. Please have regular checkups and follow the advise of your nephrologist.

Namaste!

!!

Well as per the above mentioned problem , what we can suggest that in case of renal failure , dialysis is the option which has to be done.

Again it depends on what exactly was the root cause for the problem was.Similarly in patent with High level of Creatine and urea level the renal functions are impaired.

In such cases along with the the therapies which are going on some ayurvedic remedies like Aluretic Tablets,Divya Renal Failure Package can be give. Alone with this some basic pranayama should be done and a very light diet to be taken.

Regards
