Cirrhosis is the scarring in the liver which if left untreated will increase the irreversible scarring. The symptoms like swelling, loss of appetite and fatigue will be seen initially and in later stages will cause ascitis or jaundice. If it is treated initially, it responds well as the liver can regenerate. If left untreated, it will lead to the progression of the liver disorder.

Ayurvedic medicines like Divya Sarvakalp kwath, Bhumi Amla Churna and Liverex Tablet for liver can be taken for a month and then reviewed.

Eat cooked easily digestable food. Include buttermilk, goose berry, garlic, turmeric, spinach and bottle gourd. Reduce excess proteins, oil, sugar, tea, carbonated beverages, fat, coffee and salt. Take sufficient rest and try to have good sleep. Pranayamam and meditation will be beneficial. Please do have regular checkups to assess the function of the liver.

As your father is suffering from chronic liver condition called Liver cirrhosis where there will be moderate to severe damage to liver and its function will takes place and in Ayurveda there are medications which are helpful to take out toxins and help in improving liver function and if liver is completely damaged, then the condition is difficult to treat. It seems he is having peritonitis condition where fluid collection is happening. So, it is better to put him in Allopath care wherever is appropriate and additionally you can give Ayurvedic medications which are also helpful. You can give him Package Medicine for Liver cirrhosis that contains a combination of decoctions which has to be prepared at home 5 types of powdered medicines and two types of tablets are provided with the package. All are meant for liver cirrhosis to take its functioning also. These medicines are helpful indirectly in treating liver related disorders and complications associated with liver functioning. In Additional to provided Kwath Churna, you may need to add Totla Kvath depending on the condition and this helps to reduce water retention in peritoneal cavity.

There maybe breathing difficulty associated, so you may ask him to practice breathing exercises too.

There are several medicines available in Divya pharmacy which is meant exclusively for liver disorders. However its usage entirely depends on the clinical condition of the patient and the result varies between individual.

It is said that you are currently diagnosed to have fatty liver. Liver is the second largest organ in the body. There is no harm to liver when it has fat between 5 to 10%. When the level exceeds above 10, the condition becomes almost irreversible. This can lead to the permanent damage of liver cells thereby leading to cirrhosis.

Thus at this stage i want you to quit alcohol and have regular exercise. I doing so this fat will get reduced and liver gets back to normal level in 6 months. If the issue does not resolve with this step, then we can opt for medicine intake.
