Ayurvedic Medicine

The uric acid level must be maintained below 7mg/dl to prevent the symptoms due to increased uric acid. Raised uric acid levels cause gout with severe pain in the great toe or other joints. Taking Ayurvedic medicines will reduce the inflammation thus easing the pain. Please do have regular checkups as advised.

Ayurvedic medicines like Kolkilaksha kwath - 15ml of kwath with 60ml of warm water before food twice daily and Goutyhills can be taken for a month and then review.

Include coriander, turmeric, cinnamon, gokshuram, barley and kokilaksha. Reduce excess fish, peas, mushroom, meat, chicken, asparagus, cauliflower, yeast, spinach, sugar, salt, oil and meat. Eating at regular intervals without skipping meals will be beneficial to prevent the onset of gout. Yogasanas like Parvatasana, Marjaryasana, Baddha konasana, Pavanamuktasana, Vajrasana, Padmasana, Paschimottasana and Manamudrasana can be practised after the pain has subsided.

Hello,Elevated levels of serum uric acid crystallizes and deposit in joints, tendon and surrounding tissues leading to painfulmovements of the same, usually affect the greater toe of foot first. In case of acute attack intake of non steroidal inflammatory drugs are advised followed by allopurinol or probenecid tablets. In ayurveda gout is correlated with vatarakta.Ayurvedic medicines recommended are as follows-1.Gaduchyadi kwath- 30ml in equal amount of water twice a day after meals.2.G-amrita- one tablet thrice a day with luke warm water after meals.3.prapaundarikadi lepa for external application twice a day.Intake of purine enriched food like meat, fructose, seafood, legumes, egg etc should be avoided completely while dairy products, vitamin C enrich food, coffee and all types of cherries help in reducing uric acid in blood. Regular exercises including yoga and brisk walking are highly recommended.Dietary changes are more advisable to reduce the uric acid effectively.Patra potli procedure in panchkarma is highly advisable to reduce pain and inflammation.
