Ayurvedic Medicine

Hello Madam,

There are many factors that contribute in transitional stages of menstrual cycles depending up on the age. Usually, after 40 years, there may be slight changes in menstrual flow and in some cases if there is any problem with uterine function or any uterine problem, again the flow may vary and even there are chances of getting irregular menstruation. In your case, as you clearly mentioned all your reports seems to normal and still there is scanty flow. Even we need to cross check your diet and nutrition and activities. It seems there is a poor metabolism in your case, that is the reason you are gaining weight and your body mass index is apparently higher than normal and you are into near obesity level. So, your goal is to control or reduce weight and to regularize your menstrual periods. Yes, you can have the following medicines for inducing natural periods like Rajah Pravarthani Vati two tablets twice daily till you get periods and you can stop once you started with your periods and meanwhile you can start taking Patrangasava which acts as best uterine tonic and regularizes periods at this stage.

In order to control and reduce weight, you may start having Medhohar Vati for weight reduction.

Your BMI is 29 which places you in the overweight category. Weight gain is seen due to the harmonal imbalance. Oestrogen and progesterone fluctuates during the periods and the water retention causes weight gain before the periods. The menstrual cycle that occurs every month varying between 24-35days is considered normal. Ayurvedic medicines can be taken to increase the normal flow and to reduce weight.

Ayurvedic medicines like Saptasara kwath - 15ml with 60ml of warm water before food twice daily, Divya Rajahpravartani Vati and Divya Medohar Vati can be taken for 3months and then reviewed.

Eat little food with more frequencies to improve the insulin resistance and reduce stress to have a balance in the cortisol levels. Include pine apple, broccoli, soya, bottle gourd, cinnamon, papaya, garlic, pepper, horsegram and sesame seeds. Practise Yogasanas like Trikonasana, Janushirasana, Matsyasana, Dhanurasana, Uthithapadasana, Padahastasana, Bhujangasana, Gomukhasana, Utkadasna and
Paschimottasana which are beneficial.
