Ayurvedic Medicine

The pain due to disc bulge will be more in the middle age group varying between 30-45. It is due to the elasticity of the nature of the disc which is more susceptible to injury. The pain will be less in older age groups. Ayurvedic medicines and treatments help to overcome the pain in a better way. Ayurvedic treatments like Oil massage, Fomentations, Kati vasti, Streaming oil and Vasti will be beneficial.

Ayurvedic medicines like Sahacharadi kvath- 15ml with 60ml of warm water before food twice daily and Yograj Guggulu can be taken for a month and then reviewed. Divya Pidantak Tailam can be used to massage the back and the lowerlimbs.

Include ghee, cissus quadrangularis, milk, sesame seeds, nuts, flax seeds and olive oil. Reduce excess canned foods, cold refrigerated foods, oil, salt, sugar, meat and caffeine. Yogasanas like Marjaryasana, Paschimottsana, Pavanamuktasana, Matsyasana, Trikonasana and Savasana can be practised after the pain has reduced. Try to maintain proper postures while sitting and sleeping.
