Physical and mental debility

hello Doctor,

I am a 30 year old unmarried male and weigh 66 kgs, height 6 feet. I have a Pitta prakriti. I was very healthy and good looking as a child and teenager, but around 11 years ago, when I was 19 years old, I took very harsh dieting to reduce my weight. My weight reduced drastically and I became weak. Earlier I was happy to be thin, but gradually I have become very weak in every aspect (physical, mental and sexual). One Naadi Vaidya told me that my nervous system has gone very weak. I have tried medicines like ashwagandha and shilajeet but not recovered. My thyroid and testosterone tests are normal. My face is dull, my body and mind are fragile. I am desperate to get healthy. Please help.

Ayurvedic Medicine

As with your height and weight, BMI is 19. Even though it is normal, it is not a mere calculation. You have to be healthy with a normal weight. As you feel weak, you have to take medicines to improve your metabolism with nourishing foods to gain energy and also that will help you gain weight. Try to increase your lean muscle mass with exercise. It will help you to increase your metabolism and which inturn will help to increase your weight and energy.

This could be an adverse effect of dieting which has made body to become weak. That's why it is very important to do it in a sensible healthy way. Weight loss achieved gradually by healthy eating and exercise will not produce weakness.

It will take time and you can add Ajamamsa Rasayanam - 1tsp before food twice daily along with the medicines you are taking for 6months and review.

Eat healthy food with potatoes, avocados, meat soup, peanut butter, nuts, pappaya, butter, dates, jack fruit and ghee. Drink enough water. Try to exercise regularly. A good sleep is always necessary to improve the energy levels.

Practise Pranayamam and Meditation which will help you improve the function of the mind with good energy levels.
