Ayurvedic Medicine

Pulmonary hypertension is seen when the tiny arteries in the lungs become narrowed and makes it harder for the blood to flow in the lungs. This raises the pressure in the lungs and affects the function of the heart. It puts more pressure in the right ventricle and hence that must work harder to pump blood. This makes the muscle weaker in the heart causing dyspnoea and swelling in the feet. The normal range of the ejection fraction ranges between 55-70% and if it is 55% it means 55% of the blood is pumped out from the left ventricle with each heart beat. The Right ventricle systolic pressure more than 35mmHg is a cause of concern and requires treatment. Your father can continue with the advised Ayurvedic and Allopathy tablets along with regular checkups. He can also take Punarnavadi Kvath - 15ml with 60ml of warm water before food twice daily for a month andthen review. It will help to reduce the swelling and to improve the function of the heart and lungs. Include turmeric, curcumin, garlic, ginger, olive oil, tulsi, mint, avocados, walnuts, onion and oats. Reduce excess fried foods, sugar, salt and refined flour. Try to avoid strenuous activities and taking good rest is essential.
