Pranam, My dad suffers from Schizophrenia for the last 40 years he is 60+ now. What pranyam or ayurvedic medicines should he take. Thank you.

My daughter is under treatment at PGI Chandigarh for treatment of schizophrenia for last 7-8 years. Presently she is taking Clozapine medicine(it has severe side effects).Please advise Ayurveda/yoga cure for above problem.

Ayurvedic medicine for Schizophrenia

  1. Patanjali medha vati - 2 / tablets twice daily in morning and in evening. It is very good for all mind disorders. It relaxes mind and improves memory. It kills stress and reduce anxiety.

  2. Brahmi oil - Massage scalp with brahmi oil daily. You can buy any good brahmi oil from the market or go to patanjali clinic for the same.

Pranayama for Schizophrenia

  1. Bhastrima pranayama - 5 to 10 minutes - Very good for mind and it raises oxygen level in brain.
  2. Kapalbhati pranayama - 15 - 20 minutes.
  3. Anuloma viloma - 10 minutes. Again very good for mind and kills stress.
  4. Bharamari pranayama - 20 repetitions. Good for mind and soul, brings divinity.
