The nature of hair can be grouped into three categories as Vata, Pitta, Kapha type of hair. So that of Vata will be dry or frizzy, Pitta will be more prone to graying and Kapha will be thick and oily. It is generally not necessary to wash your hair with shampoo everyday. The oil from the hair shaft do not travel to the hair quickly to make it dirty.

So as with your hair type, it suggests a Pitta type where you can wash you hair thrice or four times in a week with natural organic shampoos like Nyle or Divya Kesh Milk Protein Shampoo Ideally you must apply oil to the head for around twenty minutes and then take a bath. The scalp and hair needs some oil for nourishment and there will be naturally some oil to nourish if you do not wash it with shampoo everyday. If you wash without oil and use shampoo, it will cause a dry scalp with little nourishment. In between you can appplyoil lightly to keep it lubricated and wash it the following day.

Medicines like Trichup Capsule, Narasimha Rasayanam – 1tsp before food twice daily can be taken for 3months and then reviewed. Apply Trichup Hair Oil thrice in a week and Nasyam with anuthailam is beneficial.

Include yoghurt, soya, broccoli, nuts, sesame, curry leaf, milk, chick peas, mustard greens, turnips and sweet potatoes. Avoid excess carbonated beverages, salt, sugar, fried foods, and refined flour. Drink plenty of water. Try to exercise regularly or Yogasanas like Vajrasana, Halasana, Adhomuka Svanasana, Shalabhasana,Supported Sarvangasana are beneficial.

Hello,The premature greying of hair can be due to several factors like excessive tension and stress, deficiency of certain trace minerals, side effects of certain medicines, hereditary factors and also may be due to over use of shampoo and soap in your head. It is not advisable to use shampoo daily. The medicines which will be helpful for your condition are Prapoundrikhadi Taila - Apply this oil daily on head and scalp half an hour before taking bath. You should take 1 spoon on Mahatikthaka ghritha daily morning and evening after food. These are the medicines which you will have to take for at least 6months to start getting result. Use mild herbal shampoo or baby shampoo once in 5 days only for cleaning your hair. Do not use any chemical based shampoos, hair dye, hair creams etc. Do not use hair driers, straighteners and also keep away from Hair styling. Include soya bean,Amla, fruits, green and leafy vegetables etc in your diet. Keep away from all sorts of physical and mental stress. You can also take multi vitamin supplement on regular basis.

Hello,

Premature graying of hairs can be due to increased stress levels , nutritional deficiencies ,hereditary factors , excessive use of harsh chemicals on scalp and hair. So follow a proper diet with adequate nutrition . Include more protein rich food like moong dal , egg white ( if non veg) , pulses in diet . Include gooseberry , grapes , pomegranate ,pappaya ,cucumber as well in diet . Drink atleast 3 litres of water daily . Apply Prapaundarika Thaila on scalp 30 min before bath 3-4 times a week . Practice regular yoga to bring down the stress levels . Avoid late night sleep , excess use of pickles and other sour , salty and spicy food . There are Panchakarma therapies like Nasya , Sirolepa that will help in nourishing the scalp and hair preventing further graying of hair. You can apply paste of fresh henna leaves on scalp once a month . You can consult an Ayurveda Doctor for the therapies.Internally you can have 1) Swadeshi Amla Juice 15ml + equal quantity water twice daily before food .2) Drakshadi Lehya : 1 tsp in the morning in empty stomach and at bed time .
