Since last about one year my wife is having tyroid problem. Her T3 is 12.6 and T4 is 0.8. Institute of Nuclear Medicine & Allied Science Timarpur Delhi clinically diagnosed her 'Multi Nodelar Goitre' and Cytologically Diagnosed her as 'Nodular Colloid Goitre with Cystic Change'. She got the treatment from your Ayurvedalaya at Narela Delhi-40 from Nov 09 to Mar 2010. During Treatment she felt relaxed till ayurvedic medicine were taking but after that problem is still persisting. Please help me. How long time it will take to fully cure this tyroid through Ayurvedic medicines? My younger child is of 16 year old. My wife seems having slightly swelling view on her throat. Should I go for surgery ? or it can be calm down through the ayurvedic medicines?

Ayurvedic Medicine

Hello,

Due to imbalance in hormones, thyroid nodules do occur which are formed when the tissues from the thyroid gland grows abnormally and turns in to nodule.

If the cells in the nodules are functioning and producing thyroid hormone on their own, then the symptoms will be of hyperthyroidism. If the size of nodule grows larger, then there will be compression on oesophagus or trachea and cause difficulty in breathing and even difficulty in swallowing.

There may be hoarseness of voice due to compression on larynx.

In order to reduce the size of nodules and its after effects, with the help of alternative therapies like ayurveda and other system of medicines like yoga and pranayama we can achieve positive results.

Consume balanced diet and vegetables and fresh fruit juice diet is also recommended.

You have to avoid white sugar, fried or greasy food items, alcohol, caffeine, condiments, etc. One has to include the diet which is rich in iodine like consuming cabbage, garlic, onion, oats, pineapple, tomatoes, strawberries etc are useful.Follow proper timings of food intake and have an adequate sleep. If there is any kind of weight issues, that has to be managed with proper diet and exercises.

Suggested ayurvedic medicines like Divya Kanchanar Guggulu, and Divya Medohar vati are useful for thyroid complaint.
