Vitiligo is depigmentation of the skin which happens due to the lack of melanocytes. It has a hereditary pattern and lip is a common place as it is exposed to sunlight. Some remain as small patches while others grow bigger. The exact cause is not known. It takes time to reepond to the medicines and is difficult to treat. But Ayurvedic medicines can be taken to control the patches. There may also be recurrence of the patches as it is considered as an autoimmune reaction.

Eldem capsules contain Smilax china, Azima tetracantha, Holarrhena antidysentica, Psoralea corylefolia, Ferrous sulphate and it takes time to see some changes from 3-6months.

Medicines like Mahatiktaka kasayam - 15ml with 60ml of warm water before food twice daily, Divya Bavchichurnam, Saptamrit Lauh can be taken for 3months and reviewed. Take care in applying external application but Mahatiktaka ghrtam can be applied on the lips twice daily. Coconut oil, radish seeds paste, turmeric, basil leaves can also be applied externally.

Eat healthy food with turmeric, sesame seeds, olive oil, goose berry and curry leaf. Avoid eating excess sugar, salt, fatty deep fried foods. Try to control your weight. Avoid constipation. Apply sunscreen for lips. Practise Yogasanas, Pranayamam and meditation to reduce the stress and to improve the energy levels.

Vililigo is an autoimmune condition where the pigment producing cells in the body called melanocytes are destroyed leading to formation of white patches on different areas of the body. Sometimes it is seen associated with other autoimmune diseases , Hyperthyroidism and hence check your TSH levels . In your case since it is the beginning stage further progress can be arrested by proper medications , diet and lifestyle . Excessive mental stress and strain is thought to be a triggering factor for vitiligo and so practice regular yoga and pranayama . Avoid late night sleep .Try to have a vegetarian diet as much as possible and use iron vessels and sesame oil for cooking . You can use Sesame oil for application on your lips and expose to sunlight for 10-15 minutes in the morning . Avoid cold and reheated food , refrigerated items, carbonated drinks , intake of curd , excess use of urad dal preparations ,excess sour and salty food . You can use the following medicines .1)Divya Bakuci Churna 15g with warm water twice daily before food .2)Somaraji Thaila for external application.
